Has the Bible been corrupted?
Yes.
Here are some of the versions of the corrupted “Bible” in existence today:
1. THE QURAN
It takes the names and prophets and events of the Bible and distorts and changes them into a disjointed, incoherent mess. So you are left with stories in the Quran that have a beginning and no ending and stories that have endings but no beginnings and completely incompatible with the earlier revelations which it claims to confirm and honor.
2. THE BOOK OF MORMONS
A man named Joseph Smith claimed an angel visited him and gave him the final revelation for a new religion and the final book superseding all earlier revelations. According to this corrupted version, Jesus got married and had children.
3. THE NEW WORLD BIBLE (Jehovah Witnesses)
In this corrupted version, it teaches there is no hell and Jesus is actually an angel called Michael. One of their Watchtower publications claim that Satan helped in Creation
4. The CLEAR WORD BIBLE (Seventh Day Adventist)
This corrupted version also drastically re-writes many Biblical teachings for example: when one dies, he doesn’t exist anymore, he simply disappears. Jesus is an uncreated angel.
There are many other corrupted versions of the Bible in addition to the above.
But wait….
Does an UNCORRUPTED version of the original Bible still exist?
YES.
The original Bible is intact. In fact, it is because of the existence of the original Bible that we can know what corruptions have been made to it by the impostors as shown in the examples above.
Jesus said: “…Scripture cannot be broken…” John 10:35
And here they are, the corrupters, who insist Scripture HAS been broken and present their own new versions of corrupted “scriptures.”
You can bring all your corrupted versions but…sorry…it is written, and forever stays written…
“The word of the Lord remains forever. And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.” 1 Ptr 1:25
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of INCORRUPTIBLE, by the Word of God, which LIVES and ABIDES for ever. 1 Ptr 1:23
The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” Isaiah 40:8
For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Matt 5:18
Remains forever. Incorruptible. Lives and Abides Forever. Endures forever. Not an iota, not a dot will pass from the Law.
Still corrupted by objective observation. All books of all faiths suffer the same level of confusion due to misunderstanding. Civilization, linguistics, culture, traditions, you name it.
The Christian writings were never meant to be compiled into a single Bible. All you have are gospels, epistles, and revelations from different Jewish, Church, and Gnostic figures.
2:79 Woe to those who write Scripture with their hands and claim, “This is from God”, and sell them at little price. Woe to them.
Now where is “I will die for your sins and for the sins of all humanity”?
You’re all over the place with this comment.
Who is Sura 2:79 referring to?
See 2:75. It was “a party of them.”
Learn to read in context.
Besides, allah says in 3:199, “And indeed, among the People of the Scripture are those who believe in Allah and what was revealed to you and what was revealed to them, [being] humbly submissive to Allah . They do not exchange the verses of Allah for a small price. Those will have their reward with their Lord. Indeed, Allah is swift in account.”
Now where is “I will die for your sins and for the sins of all humanity”?
For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. (Matthew 26:28)
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)
He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. (Luke 24:46-48)
So the only reason you can give for the Bible (which if we’re fair also includes the Old Testament, otherwise you’re talking about the New Testament only, not the whole Bible) was “never meant to be compiled” is because it has different things? You mean like the Quran borrows from absolutely every source that came before it that was available, Gospel of Barnabas, Jewish Talmud and myths, pre-Islam local folklore, everything and anything was given the ‘Islamasizing treatment’ and added to the Quran. And the original manuscripts aren’t anywhere to be found, but you’ve still got 36 different arabic Qurans today that do have differences in them that affect faith – and practises.
You also mean like the Hindu writings are tall tales about gods and their actions, praise songs, correct wedding rites, sacrifice and politics as well as philosophical teachings?
And how the Tripitaka is so very interested in what a person should be eating as their diet and how they should dress to be always correct?
You’ll also find that plenty of these “Gnostic figures” never made it into the Bible, because those still there who’d actually been eyewitnesses or directly in contact with eyewitnesses could tell that something about their writings did NOT fit, was added or embellished or just plain wrong.
And you also forget that Christianity did not begin as a sold product. It began as a humble retinue of men preaching what they had seen and heard and experienced, they were not out to gather riches but to share the good news and enrich the lives of those who heard them out. The apostles weren’t robbing caravans, conquering towns, or hoarding war booty. They didn’t torture men for money, didn’t tell their followers they were going to throw all of X out of the area and admit them ONLY if they paid a ‘humiliation tax’. And they didn’t tell their followers that whoever changed their religion, they should kill them. (Unlike a certain prophet was fond of doing)
What they did was preach salvation in the name of and through the blood of Jesus Christ, crucified for your sins, a willing and perfect atonement for you, to bring you into a relationship with God and make you whole again, and to ensure you that you DO have everlasting life, with God. No bridges over the fires of Hell to cross. No uncertainty. No forever fearing or earning salvation. Just one perfect answer, prophesied in the Old Testament and recorded in the New Testament, in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, the Way, the Truth and the Life. I pray that one day, you’ll come to know Him, and that your eyes will be open to truth.
In addition to the accurate words of the admin here, I’d like to add one more to ‘where is “I will die for your sins and for the sins of all humanity”?’
The Gospel of John, 3:14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up
This refers to the Old Testament directly, to Numbers 21:4-9 4 Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became very [b]discouraged on the way. 5 And the people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul [c]loathes this worthless bread.” 6 So the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died.
7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord that He take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.
8 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.
The detail of it being a snake isn’t the point. It’s that the Israelites had to look at, look upon, the snake raised up, and believe in it to be saved, to be cured. Just as we have to look at and acknowledge that Jesus was on the cross, for us, died, and rose from the dead on the third day. There are SO MANY Old-Testament prophesies that are fulfilled in Jesus that to count them all would take too much time and too much space in this comment field.
God bless.
Thank you Maria.
