The Most Explosive Verse In The Quran

There is one verse in the Quran that is like a hidden nuclear bomb. It is so powerful that it has the capability to obliterate all of Islam, including Allah, Muhammad and his Quran.

Qur’an 6:85 says: وَزَكَرِيَّا وَيَحْيَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَإِلْيَاسَ ۖ كُلٌّ مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

“And Zachariah and John and Jesus and Elias—all were of the righteous.”

On the surface, this seems like a harmless list of prophets. But look closely. This one verse completely destroys Islam from the inside.

How?

Because of the names themselves.

The Prophets’ Names Are Testimonies to Yahweh

Remember, they are all Jewish. Names in Hebrew are very significant. They have special meanings. Every prophet mentioned here carries the mark of YHWH (Yahweh, the covenant God of Israel) in their very name. Let’s break them down:

  • Zechariah – Hebrew: זְכַרְיָה (Zekharyah) means “Yahweh remembers.”
  • John – Hebrew: יוֹחָנָן (Yochanan) means “Yahweh is gracious.”
  • Jesus – Hebrew: יֵשׁוּעַ (Yeshua) means “Yahweh saves.”
  • Elijah – Hebrew: אֵלִיָּהוּ (Eliyahu) means “My God is Yahweh.”

Notice the repeating pattern? Every one of these names explicitly glorifies Yahweh, not Allah. In the Arabic, these names have been corrupted to mean nothing as in Yahya and Isa or the menaings have been hidden as in the case of Zakaria and Elias.

The Deafening Silence of Allah’s Name

If Allah were the true God of these prophets, we would expect names of prophets to reflect him. After all, names in Hebrew culture, and in Arabic too, were chosen to declare devotion to God.

  • So where are the Abdullahs (servant of Allah)?
  • Where are the Habibullahs (beloved of Allah)?
  • Where are the Hizbullahs (party of Allah)?

They don’t exist. Not one single prophet or messenger possess a name honoring Allah. Not in the Bible, not in Jewish history, and not even in the Qur’an. Instead, all the prophets’ very identities stand as proud monuments that point to none other than Yahweh.

Every time you see a Hebrew name ending in “iah” or “yah”(יהו / יה) or if the name begins “Yeho (יְהוֹ), it bears the divine name of Yahweh.

From Azariah to Hezekiah, Josiah to Nehemiah, Obadiah to Zephaniah, Jehoshaphat to Jehoiakim, all across Israel’s history, from kings to prophets to ordinary people, the covenant Name Yahweh (יהוה) was embedded in personal names as a testimony, as devotion and as worship to the one God, Yahweh.

The Qur’an’s Accidental Self-Sabotage

What an irony. The illiterate Muhammad borrowed heavily from Jewish and Christian stories, but he didn’t know Hebrew. He copied the prophets’ names without realizing they were living testimonies against his claim for his made-up religion and the Arabian idol of the kaabah named Allah. (In fact, Muhamad’s father’s name was Abdullah, which means “servant of Allah”, yet Abdullah, the servant of Allah was a pagan who worshipped hundreds of idols including Allah.)

By inserting these Hebrew names into the Qur’an, Allah and Muhammad failed spectacularly by unknowingly confessing that:

  • These prophets belonged to Yahweh’s covenant, not Allah’s.
  • Their ministries were anchored in the God of Israel, not in Mecca.
  • Islam has no continuity with the prophetic line.

The Qur’an condemns itself with its own words.

The Verdict

Qur’an 6:85 is not just another verse. It is the most explosive verse in Islam because it exposes three devastating truths:

  1. The prophets’ names honor Yahweh, not Allah.
  2. There is no prophetic tradition tied to Allah’s name.
  3. Muhammad’s Qur’an accidentally testifies against itself.

When Zechariah (“Yahweh remembers”), John (“Yahweh is gracious”), Jesus (“Yahweh saves”), and Elijah (“My God is Yahweh”) stand together in Qur’an 6:85, the sole inevitable declaration is:

“Yahweh is God. There is no allah.”

And that one verse alone is enough to topple the entire Islamic claim.
