The Salvation That Came To Us

God said something immense in Isaiah 56:1.

“..soon my salvation will come, and my righteousness be revealed.”

Isaiah 56:1

This was prophesied in 700 BC.

The question is:
Did that salvation come? When? What exactly was it?
And how was God’s righteousness revealed when that salvation came?

In the original Hebrew of this text, the word for “salvation” is “yeshua”.

In other words, God said, “Soon my yeshua will come and my righteousness will be revealed.”

Who is Yeshua? That’s Jesus’ name in Hebrew!

“Wait a minute!” I hear you say. “Salvation is not a person. How can you say it refers to Jesus?”

Well, let’s see what the prophet Isaiah says.

Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, “Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.”

Isaiah 62:11

There’s that word SALVATION again. But look carefully, the text not only says SALVATION comes, it describes SALVATION as a person! Salvation/Yeshua is a HIM!

Isaiah also addresses Him, the coming “SALVATION” as, Redeemer.

“And a Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression,” declares the LORD.

Isaiah 59:20

I had asked a few questions at the start of this article. Perhaps now we can answer them.
Did that salvation come? When? What exactly was it?
And how was God’s righteousness revealed when that salvation came?

Yes, SALVATION did come! His name was Yeshua (Jesus), the Redeemer. God’s righteousness was revealed when SALVATION came because He is God!

“… and you shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob. (Isaiah 60:16)

Isaiah 60:16

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people….”
Titus 2:11
